[06] The unfortunate thing about "constructive criticism" is that nobody really appreciates it as much as the one who's giving it. [07] Many of the suspicions we have of others are formed from the knowledge we have of ourselves. [08] If you aren't big enough fot criticism, you're really too small for praise.

Zingers: Criticism
The Bible's message on criticism: --«Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults--unless, of course, you want the same treatment» (Matthew 7.1, The Message). --«Those people are on a dark spiral downward. But if you think that leaves you on the high ground where you can point your finger at others, think again. Every time you criticize someone, you condemn yourself. It takes one to know one. Judgmental criticism of others is a well-known way of escaping detection in your own crimes and misdemeanors» (Romans 2.1, The Message). --«So where does that leave you when you criticize a brother? And where does that leave you when you condescend to a sister? I'd say it leaves you looking pretty silly--or worse. Eventually, we're all going to end up kneeling side by side in the place of judgment, facing God. Your critical and condescending ways aren't going to improve your position there one bit» (Romans 14.10, The Message). --«Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. Stop criticizing others, or it will all come back on you. If you forgive others, you will be forgiven» (Luke 6.37, New Living Translation)

[01] Don't mind criticism. If it is untrue--disregard it; if it is unfair--don't let it irritate you; if it is ignorant--smile; and if it is justified--learn from it. [02] If you MUST criticize, try criticizing the fault instead of the person. [03] Look over your own faults, and soon you will overlook the faults of others. [04] No one can improve his (or her) work by tearing down the work of another. [05] One of the hardest things to take is one of the easiest things to give: criticism.
